Hendricks Gin : Performer & Creative Consultant

In collaboration with Yakusan

I was originally engaged by Yakusan to perform/host their Hendricks Gin activation for Spectrum Now and Dark Mofo. With a background in performance, experiential and beverage, I embodied the Ringleader character created by the creative team, encouraging product sampling, providing entertainment and MCing the live shows inside the Parlour. 

After a jam-packed first night of the Dark MOFO activation I worked with closely with the production team to devise a better solution for the long queues of people that were forming outside the Parlour waiting to enter the space.

We developed a concept to provide a set number of antique keys to the crowd who would only be able to gain access to the live shows and bar if they held a key. Once a person or group had finished their time inside the Parlour, they were invited to hand their key to a waiting person/group outside in the Fire Garden. It generated mystery, anticipation and connection amongst the crowd in the cold, dark Hobartian night. It was a brilliant solution to the problem, with a smother flow of entry and an entertainment moment in itself when the keys were handed over between guests.

Following these first 3 activations, Hendricks Gin then invited me to work with them directly on various hosting characters on activations at QT Sydney and Elizabeth Bay House. I provided concept development, design and activation of crowd activities and performance planning with small groups of performers and bar staff.
